We love Las Mariposas and plan on returning next year. The staff is like family, caring and attentive our needs. The location is great and we have made friends at this special hotel that we look forward to seeing each year. We feel that Las Mariposas is our special place.
Las Mariposas has more positive features than I can possibly list. Everyone who works there is friendly, helpful, and kind. The hotel is filled with happy people who appreciate the over the top service they receive at all times. Also, the rooms and grounds are always immaculate, not an easy task in a dusty city. It is truly a very special place that draws people back year after year. For me, it is like my home away from home and I always look forward to returning year after year. Nowhere else have I ever felt so welcome. I hope to continue to return there for many more years to come.
This place was wonderful to stay at. They gave us a great room and have a modest breakfast. The location is walking distance to some of the best cusine in Oaxaca.
Las Mariposas is a home away from home. The rooms and all surrounding areas are immaculate, decorated beautifully, and well-appointed. The grounds are lush with areas of sun and shade with many places to sit alone or to gather with friends. Best of all are the staff and owners. They are all routinely helpful and gracious whether we've needed a reservation made; a recommendation; or even a referral to a medical professional. And the location is ideal: next door to the English language library (another great resource) and within walking distance of numerous restaurants and El Llano Park.

Awesome hotel! The staff here is amazing. Crystal was so wonderful helping us get checked in. She was patient as I stumbled around with my spanish. The rooms were clean and well kept. The atmosphere is tremendous. I also loved that it is so close to the park, La Llano! Definitely try it out when you come to Oaxaca!
I led a student group tour to Oaxaca and staying at Las Mariposas was one of the best decisions we made. The staff are incredibly kind and work to make your stay perfect. It’s a fabulous location and very close to great restaurants, plazas, and cultural sights, and the lending library next door is adorable. The hotel even gave us a 10% coupon to use at a nearby restaurant when we asked for recommendations! We also loved the hotel’s dedication to sustainability and connection to the community. When I come back to Oaxaca, I will be staying at Las Mariposas no doubt!
